Default Unused skill points

Firstly, I'd like to make it clear that yes, I am aware that some of players can't get enough skill points, that they want to try multiple class combos with one given character and have hundreds of skills to buy. I know. But, on the other hand, there also those players who, like me, like to keep their character's professions just the way they are and try other professions with other characters. What does that leave us with? Many, many skill points just laying around.
Certainly, there will be more chapters, and many fully intend to bring those characters to new worlds and acquire any new skills that come along. I know I do. But if it follows the example of Factions, where there were but 15 new skills for each profession, there still will be a xunlai-agent-storage-load of them unspent. Not to mention the fact that you will be acquiring more and more as you play through said new chapter.
What is my request, then? A "money sink" for skill points. How? I have no idea, but I'd like to open the table for any suggestions. Maybe "sell" them, since people complain a lot about the lack of monetary rewards in the game. Maybe use them as a form of currency like the Monastery Credits, in which they would reflect a hero's reputation. Beats me, but the suggestion stands.
As long as they're constructive, your comments would be appreciated.

15? Im pretty sure there more than 15 new skills for each profession. As for the idea, I dont know why'd you'd use the exact same build for the entire game. If you dont buy any skills, thats too bad, thats what skill points are for, and only what they're for.

Right...give more incentive to farm...I think not...leave them as they are, I farm regularly when we he favor and such, and I still don't think I have enough skill points, and I wouldn't buy them either...don't want them? Stop farming Need them? Start playing the game.

i buy new skills, like the ones for factions, but i am pretty sure there were only 15 new skills per profession(proph). Alot of those were repeat skills just with a new name. there really is no point in buying those ones. i currently have every ranger skill, minus a few elite and a few beast mastery skils. and now what, i got 120+ unused skill points. idk what to do wtih them, i wouldnt want to sell them b/c pwr lvling ppl will make a killing off that, but maybe trade them for sumthing..., or even better make a title for say 500/750/1k skill points.

Bus: You are correct about the number of new skills, I was typing from a wrong impression. However, you are not correct by assuming that I used the same build for the entire game, when I only said that I used the same two professions. I've bought all the skills, except for seven repeats and a couple of Expertise ones (said character is a W/R). Therefore, that point is rather moot.

xiaotsu: I only farm occasionally, and I do play the game, having scoured both Tyria and Cantha. Two wrong and unnecessary assumptions from your part, when all I asked for were ideas or constructive criticism. It needn't be an incentive for farming, I wasn't suggesting 1k per skill point "sold". I was but hoping for an alternative for those of us who have more skill points than they happen to need.

If i remember right from a post from Racthoh, it took about 680 skill points to get every skill in the game, which takes about 10 mil exp. If you farm that much, I don't think you need anything extra for those unused skill points

Again, the character I'm talking about has but two professions. He's never changed professions, much less acquired all the skills in the game. I am not a professional farmer as you people for some reason are implying, and I didn't need to farm to get more skill points than I can actually spend. Comments are appreciated, but please make sure you've actually read what I wrote before replying.
Besides, the monetary rewards or currency equivalency were but an idea. Do feel free to propose others, should you be interested in such a feature.

That'd be quite a profit. Jokes aside, though, I have a quarter of your XP, but I still would appreciate an alternative to spend my skill points on, as I'm not really into hoarding them. It needn't be gold, it could be a new feature for all I care. Drop them into a "skill pool" for the benefit of your Guild, akin to sharing your knowledge with less experienced members. Maybe something along that line...

This would be another way for people who do nothing but PVE to get even more gold or whatever "benefit" you're thinkning of. Yeah make things even better for those 55 hp monk morons. Thats exactly what this game needs (sarcasm)

I really don't get the aggressiveness of some of you people; it almost seems like this idea scares you. Sarcasm as subtle as a brick to the face is uncalled for, especially when all I'm suggesting is an alternative for people who happen to, for some reason or another, not have spent all their skills points. Seriously, reading comprehension ftw...
Yes, I cast Animate Bone Minion on this thread. So call me a thread necromancer...

The problem with selling them is that it is impossible to trade them otherwise. They have no inventory item image.

Really, all it would take would be an interface akin to having your skill points displayed in a box, and then pick the appropriate "benefit" or "effect" from a table, each one requiring one or more skill points. Selling them for gold would just be the easiest alternative. People already do that with faction and amber/jade to sell it at times. What I was hoping for would be an insight as to how those skill points might be used in ways other than eventually making money.

Simple... trade skill points just like credits... for keys and the like at quartermasters. 1 skill points = 1 credit at quartermaster.

Skill points should only be applied torwards skills, IMHO.

It would be nice to be able to purchase skills from skill trainers using only skill points. Maybe 5 skill points should allow you to purchase a skill.

Another option could be to allow you to pay for part of your skill with skill points and the rest with gold. Assuming you could trade 5 skill points in for one skill, then each skill point is the equivalent of 200g. (Yes I realize it costs 1 skill point and 1 p, but let's keep the math simple :P).

If each skill point is 200g, then maybe you could use 2 of them to knock 400g off the price of a skill. This would allow you to buy the skill for 600g.

Voila, instant gold-sink and a use for people with too many skill points (like me).

Replaying Imperial Sanctum today gave me an idea: how about having NPCs in certain high-level areas, through which characters could "rent" special skills like they do with Kuunavang, only this time via skill point expenditure? It might even be at the gods' statues, a special kind of boon only attainable by level 20 characters. How's that for an alternative?

Then you're just burning skill points for temporary usage
I'd prefer the idea that the Skill Trainer takes X skill points per skill without having to pay money

Mr Urthadar, that is an excellent idea. My main character has about 60 points. One of my girlfriend's characters just hit the 2 mil experience mark. Know how much farming we do? Absolutely none. At least, not any of the outright faction farming or troll farming or gold farming.

So I have an abundance of skill points, but often times not a lot of money. Sometimes no money at all. I would love to trade those points in to save money.

I think that they should be related to the actual professiones since u get them for every level of exp. May be act like atributes points every 10 skill point = 1% of a atrabute point ( dont havbe the math worked out) but something like that.
